Story Time around the Hearth

Saturday, January 18th 10:30 am – 11:00 am in the outdoor heated Pavilion on the grounds of the museum. Story read by Natalie Jones the Children and Youth Librarian from the Vancouver Island Regional Library- Sooke Branch. No charge for the event. Stories are chosen for children birth -5 years old, all ages welcome. Bring blankets and pillows to cozy up around the fire place.

Sunday, January 26th 2-4 pm Bees and the Ecology presented by Bob Liptrot from Tugwell Creek Farm and Meadery.

In the heated outdoor pavilion on the grounds of the Sooke Region Museum. No charge for the event- Donations gratefully accepted.

Speaker Series follow -up Discussion Group Thursday, January 30th 2-4 pm at the Sooke Library.

Sunday, February 9th 2-4 with Grant Hayter- Menzies author of Woo, The Monkey Who Inspired Emily Carr.

Please join us as Grant talks about the writing of this book and Emily Carr’s beloved monkey Woo. In the heated pavilion on the grounds of the Sooke Region Museum. Books will be signed by Grant and available for sale from The Sooke Region Museum $22.95 +Tax No Charge for the event– Donations gratefully accepted

Sunday, February 23rd – Learn the Basics of Taxidermy with Jackie Hannam-Chandler

In this workshop Jackie will take you through all the steps necessary to preserve a skull. No equipment necessary. Cost is $50 + GST Please call the Sooke Region Museum to register and pay in advance Space is limited for this workshop so please call early to avoid disappointment
